It was six days before Passover. Thousands were pouring into Jerusalem for the holy celebrations and choosing their Passover lambs. But Jesus and his disciples left town, traveling two miles east to Bethany to be with a group of people who loved Jesus and were awaiting a resurrection one day. One, in particular, seemed to know the cost of that resurrection, so she gave him an extravagantly valuable possession and worshiped him.
