As we are settling into new routines with our work, kids schooling at home, parenting adult kids from afar, and overall social distancing, we know that Jesus is still the light of the world. And followers of Christ are called to reflect that light in our communities, especially in times like we find ourselves today.
We want to encourage you during this time as you are thinking about ways to be a good neighbor, and how you can be the hands and feet of Jesus to someone nearby, physically or digitally.
Focus on gratitude – We can spend our time thinking about what we are missing, but when we focus on what we have and what we can do for others, we see how much we really have to offer to God and others.
Act on giving – There is a lot of need everywhere you look. If you happen to find a full aisle of elusive supplies at the grocery store, buy what you need and an extra to share with someone who can’t get out or who is in need.
Encourage online – It’s never been easier to “reach out and touch someone.” Offer encouragement by calling or video chatting with an old friend, a far-away relative, or your next-door neighbor. And share an encouraging word, Bible verse, and a smile.
