Welcome to the weekend, and welcome to the Saturday 7.
It's almost Easter, the day we remember the most difficult promises Jesus kept. The Bible tells us that all of the promises of God are fulfilled in Jesus. But some of them are so big, it can be hard to believe they're true. Are our sins really paid for ... completely? Will we really rise again as Jesus did?
When it becomes difficult to trust, it's good to remember the small promises he's already kept, the personal ones, times he's come through for us in mighty ways. He gave his disciples one about Galilee that they could easily hold onto and look back on. The keeping of it changed the world. What small assurances has he given you? What impact could your trusting them make?
Our friends at BibleProject offer this study of Jesus’ resurrection from Luke 24, with a podcast, video, teaching, and reflection questions. Consider sharing this study with your family on this holy weekend.
Saturday/Sunday: Two playlists for Easter from NCF
"He is risen indeed" takes on new meaning when we remember what it took to get to Sunday and an empty tomb. We've made you a playlist for each of these days: Holy Saturday for meditating on Jesus' death, and Resurrection Sunday for rejoicing.
This is more than a request for you to bake bread. This is a prayer exercise for refugees around the world. Consider taking the time to bake in honor of the Ukrainian people as you continue to pray for them. Or, if you prefer, make a dish served this time of year by refugees from a place God has put on your heart.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned – every one – to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
– Isaiah 53:6
