Welcome to the weekend, and welcome to the Saturday 7.
How are the world’s Christians doing at reaching the ends of the earth? Globally, it seems to be going pretty well. However, American understanding of global missions is waning. In 2018, when Barna Group asked U.S. churchgoers what the Great Commission meant, only 17 percent could answer correctly and identify the passage of Scripture where Jesus makes this command. Now, a new study from Barna seeks to discover the barriers to engagement in global missions and help churches and church members overcome them.
Calvin Edwards, who has helped many givers evaluate ministries for decades, talks with our friends at The Finish Line Pledge. Learn what detailed due diligence of a charity looks like (11:06) and why evaluating a charity is part of good stewardship (31:18).
As you prayerfully consider which charities to support with your Giving Fund at NCF, your balance has the potential to grow over time. You can choose from a variety of investment options, including NCF’s own pools, separately managed accounts with your advisor, and even impact investments.
Please join us in praying for people living with food insecurity, which is expected to increase as war keeps some Ukrainian farmers (who provide one-fourth of the world’s wheat) from planting.
Saturday 7 is brought to you by our team at the National Christian Foundation (NCF). We would love to help you create your Giving Strategy™, so you can experience more joy and adventure as you pursue a life of generosity. Find an NCF location near you at ncfgiving.com/locations.
