Welcome to the weekend, and welcome to the Saturday 7.
In Acts 2, the early church was characterized by sharing and selling what they had for the benefit of others. Decades later, Paul witnesses this same supernatural "grace of giving" and writes about it in his second letter to the Corinthian church. Even the poor could give. And those who gave to bless others were blessed themselves.
How does this happen? It’s the easy yoke of giving with God, and Paul’s exhortation to the Corinthians is one of the most fascinating passages in the Bible.
If God has everything under his control, we can rest easier that the weight of the world is not on us. And we can rejoice, knowing he loves us and is guiding our steps. Rejoice this weekend with this happy Christian playlist.
Those in the early church weren't focused on investing in the things of this world. Instead, they gave to meet each other’s needs and to spread the message of the gospel before Christ returned. They leveraged their earthly wealth for eternal gain. What might this mean for us today?
At least 20 lives have been lost and more than 1,600 people displaced by record flooding and devastating mudslides in California. Disaster relief teams are on the ground making sure those most impacted have what they need to survive and rebuild. Find out how you can help and join us in praying for those affected.
Saturday 7 is brought to you by our team at the National Christian Foundation (NCF). We would love to help you create your Giving Strategy™ so you can experience more joy and adventure as you pursue a life of generosity. Find an NCF location near you at ncfgiving.com/locations.
