Unique Opportunities for Strategic Giving in 2020
The year 2020 certainly has been unusual — but aside from the stress and challenges, strategic givers have also been presented with some unique giving opportunities.
|You are invited to join us on Tuesday, October 6th from 12 noon to 1 PM as we discuss three key giving opportunities and illustrate how you can take advantage of them this year: |
GIVE 100%: The 2020 CARES Act allows each of us to deduct 100% of AGI in charitable gifts this year. While this might sound crazy, it is actually a significant, one-time opportunity to convert certain kinds of assets to charitable resources, tax free. We will discuss the strategy for converting qualified and deferred compensation assets (like IRA’s) to charitable resources and share a story showing how it is being done.
LEVERAGE YOUR BUSINESS: Business owners are living in highly unusual times. For many, this means unusual cash flow peaks and valleys. Provisions of the 2020 CARES Act also provide unique, tax efficient, opportunities for achieving charitable goals while managing through these peaks and valleys.
USE YOUR REAL ESTATE TO FUND MINISTRY: Real Estate continues to be at peak value, especially here in the Northwest. This can be a great time to consider converting your income producing real estate to a charitable funding machine. Did you know you can gift fully depreciated real estate, deduct the full fair market value, and then either sell it or operate it for tax free, charitable cash flow? We will share a case study/giver story as an example of how this may work for you, too.
