Charitable Gift Annuity Administrative Services summary
Download PDFThis document lays out how NCF partners with ministries on charitable gift annuities. The CGA process runs through four phases, split between ministry and NCF responsibilities.
Ministries handle the donor-facing side, phases 1 and 2.
- Marketing the CGA program and educating interested donors
- Using planned giving software like Crescendo or PG Calc for presentations
- Naming one primary contact to manage the CGA relationship with NCF
- Walking the donor through the application before forwarding it to NCF
NCF then takes over the back-office work, phases 3 and 4. This includes issuing the contract and tax receipt, investing the liquidated assets, sending annuity payments, filing required state and IRS paperwork, and notifying the ministry once the remainder interest transfers after the annuitant’s death.
