Use your life insurance to fund charity
Download PDFGiving life insurance can be a creative way to support the causes you love. By transferring ownership to NCF, the policy’s proceeds become available for granting through a Giving Fund.
You may also be entitled to a charitable deduction for the lesser of the policy’s fair market value or your cost basis. It’s a way to make an asset you already have work harder for good.
Here is what to consider before giving:
- NCF accepts whole, universal, or variable life insurance
- Future premiums must be funded if the policy isn’t already paid in full
- No policy loan can be outstanding at the time of transfer
- About 98 percent of proceeds go to your Giving Fund or other grantmaking vehicle, with the remainder supporting NCF’s ministry
