The story of NCF Memphis

Before NCF Memphis began, there was WiseHeart Foundation.
Founded in 2012, WiseHeart was established as a Christian community foundation with a bold vision: to build a movement of generous givers who would make Memphis and the Mid-South known for their generosity. Inspired by Psalm 90:12, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom,” WiseHeart focused on inspiring biblical generosity, providing creative giving solutions, and mobilizing resources through families, advisors, and ministries.
In 2018, a connection was made between WiseHeart and the National Christian Foundation (NCF), sparking a conversation about partnership. Over the next three years, WiseHeart received training and complex gift support from NCF, and both organizations saw the value in a closer relationship.
In April 2021, the WiseHeart board voted unanimously to take a significant next step: transitioning to become NCF Memphis. The official launch took place in April 2022.
Today, the mission and legacy of WiseHeart continue under the banner of NCF Memphis – still focused on generosity, still rooted in the Gospel, and still passionate about helping others give wisely and live generously.
