Steps to create a Supporting Organization

Establishing a Supporting Organization (SO) is a meaningful way to structure your charitable giving. NCF can help you create one under our group exemption, which is generally faster than filing directly with the IRS.

The process typically takes six to eight weeks, and your attorney can work alongside NCF’s team every step of the way.

Once everything is signed and submitted, NCF provides acknowledgement and acceptance of your SO, both to you and to the IRS. From there, your SO is ready to carry out your charitable vision.
