Video: Trading a lucrative job for multiplying generosity (Terry Parker)
In 1981, a respected attorney received an unexpected opportunity to serve as a judge on the United States Court of Appeals. While the position represented a significant professional achievement, he took time to prayerfully consider whether it aligned with God’s calling for his life.
After seeking wisdom and counsel, he recognized that his purpose was not to pursue a judicial career but to help Christian organizations and believers navigate complex giving. Accepting the judgeship would have meant stepping away from the work that ultimately helped lay the foundations for National Christian Foundation.
Though others questioned his decision, he remained confident that obedience to God’s direction mattered more than public recognition. And more than four decades later, we’re glad he made that choice.
