Sam Tortorici

Board Member

Sam Tortorici is a 34 year banking industry executive. He served as CEO of Cadence Bank (NYSE:CADE) from 2011-2021 where he was instrumental in overseeing three acquisitions, significant organic growth, an initial public offering in 2017 and the ultimate sale of the bank to BancorpSouth in late 2021. Just prior to its BancorpSouth merger, Cadence was an $18 billion
regional bank with a presence in 6 southeastern states.

Prior to Cadence, Tortorici had a 24 year career at AmSouth Bancorpora7on and successor Regions Financial, where he held a number of senior commercial, finance and general banking leadership roles. Immediately prior to joining Cadence, Tortorici led Regions’ Commercial & Industrial business comprised of over 500 banking professionals across 16 states, more than $40 billion of loans and deposits, with annual revenue exceeding $1 billion. His other leadership roles at AmSouth/Regions include Chief Financial Officer, Central Region President, Alabama Regional President, North Central Alabama Area Executive and Corporate Banking Executive.

Tortorici has served in a variety of civic roles around his community, including board chairman and campaign chairman for United Way of Central Alabama, board member of National Christian Foundation – Alabama, executive committee for the Birmingham Regional Chamber of
Commerce, board member of the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, and the Rotary Club of Birmingham. He continues to actively serve his alma mater on the University of Alabama’s President’s Cabinet.

He has served for over a decade as a Ruling Elder at Covenant Presbyterian Church, on the Executive Campaign Committee for RUF’s 50th anniversary capital campaign, a consultant to PRAY.com, and plays a leadership role with Manifold Vision / Urban Hope Community Church.

Tortorici has a B.S. degree in Accoun7ng from the University of Alabama, attended the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Delaware, completed the Advanced Topics in Treasury Management at Duke’s Fuqua School of Business, as well as the Leadership
Development Program at the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, NC. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Kathryn. The have three adult children, two daughters-in-law and two grandchildren.
