Deb Gore

Deb Gore is a retired school teacher who taught Rhetoric for fifteen years at Regents School of Austin. Prior to teaching, Deb worked in economic development as the Main Street Project Manager and the Director of the Chamber of Commerce in Taylor, Texas. Now she enjoys working at the Travis County jail as a volunteer in the library and in Chaplain services, where she was honored as outstanding volunteer in 2016. Deb has also written three faith-based reentry study guides (including one on finances) for incarcerated women. The studies are being used in multiple prisons in Texas and Wisconsin. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from Kansas State University. Deb and her husband Rex moved to Austin in 1985 and have used National Christian Foundation as the tool for their giving since 2011. They both care deeply about issues related to education and incarceration. Deb and Rex have two sons and three grandchildren.
