Audra Ames

Certified Financial Planner, Valeo Financial Advisors, LLC

Audra Ames is a Certified Financial Planner with Valeo Financial LLC in Carmel, Indiana. After 3 years together and just eight months married to her wonderful husband Scot, Audra was suddenly widowed in February 2021. Like many young couples, Audra and Scot did not think they needed to update life insurance beneficiaries or execute an estate plan with urgency — they thought they would have more time. Unfortunately, Audra experienced firsthand how tomorrow is not promised, and navigated heartache in the months, and (now) years, following Scot’s death due to their naivety.

Now in a club she didn’t ask or want to be a part of, Audra is on a mission to serve widows, divorcees, and women in life transition with compassion and excellence. While 80% of men will die married, the average age a woman becomes a widow is 57, living at least another 15 years on her own after her husband’s death. The loss of a spouse causes significant changes in long-term planning, and an estimated 80% of women leave their financial advisor within the first year after the death of their spouse. Audra knows how meaningful it is for a widow to have a trusted financial planning professional in their lives to assist them in navigating life after loss and is honored to walk alongside her clients in these difficult and new seasons.
