A Christmas Devotional: 10 days of biblical generosity

There’s a reason Christmas is all about giving. It’s because of the first gift that God gave us.

The specialness of the Christmas holiday is the celebration of the gift of God’s Son and the invitation into God’s family, open to all who trust in him. Jesus’ life on earth is the greatest expression of God’s generosity there has ever been.

God is good, and he loves us. So he gives. This is the starting point of everything for Christians, and it helps explain why we celebrate his coming at Christmas.

As you share the simple truth of the gospel with friends and family over the holiday, we want to give you something to help, to explain God’s goodness and why we give in response. Download the 10 principles of biblical generosity below, our gift to you. Then join us on social media as we examine these principles over the 12 days leading up to Christmas.

Each biblical principle is followed by a reflection question and a prayer. These are designed for friends and family of any age.

Even if you can’t be together physically, this is something you can forward to others and go through together to focus on the biblical reasons Christians choose to give.
