Jonathan Webb

Co-Managing Partner

Jonathan Webb has 30+ years of experience from a career in investment banking and private equity. He has extensive expertise in mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, principal investing, strategic planning and business development. Entrepreneurially inclined and highly resourceful, Jonathan is recognized for developing distinctive strategies and innovative structures to execute transactions and effectively lead stakeholder groups.

His primary focus is originating and managing non-cash and complex gift strategies for the granting of public equities and alternative assets (closely held business interest, real estate and intellectual property. As the industry’s recognized leader in structuring complex gifts for private business owners and private equity investors, in 2021 NCF granted $1.6 billion to over 31,000 non-profit organizations.

Prior to joining NCF, Jonathan was a co-founder of Legacy Acquisition Corporation (“Legacy”), a $300 million Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC). Legacy was the first African-American led SPAC to list on the New York Stock Exchange and completed its business combination in November 2020. Additionally, he has sourced and led middle-market private equity investments in a variety of industries.

Other experience includes working at Duff & Phelps as a Managing Director in Mergers & Acquisitions, a Vice President at Lehman Brothers, and in various other roles at Oppenheimer & Company, the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce Oppenheimer, and Loop Capital Principal Investments.

Jonathan studied finance at Morehouse College and holds an MBA degree from Columbia Business School. Other studies include the London Business School and Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. Commercial and non-profit board positions include Quality Control Corp., Sunshine Enterprises, Chicago Fellowship, Jobs For Youth (Chair), Sunshine Gospel Ministries (Board President), The LOM Group (Chair), Tooling Technologies (Observer) and Grace Capital Management.

Jonathan enjoys a variety of hobbies and mission work.  He and his wife, Suzette, have three adult sons, Joshua, Julian and Jonathan II.  The couple reside in Chicago and are members of St. James AME Church Chicago, where Jonathan serves on the usher board.
