Help victims of Hurricane Helene
Our hearts ache for those who have been affected by Hurricane Helene’s widespread destruction. From Vidalia to Homerville, Valdosta to Augusta, our central and south Georgia communities are reeling from the impact of the storm’s winds and record rainfalls. Our state remains under a formal state of emergency.
Thousands of our neighbors continue to be without power, hundreds have lost homes and property, and still others have lost loved ones. Recovery has already begun but may take years to complete. We have a presence in all of the communities that are hurting and are working with organizations on the ground to bring relief.
If you feel led to support victims of Hurricane Helene, here’s how you can help:
- Contribute to The Christian Community Fund of South Georgia (Fund #2970589). This is an NCF-Georgia-managed fund designed to combine contributions and make a collective impact by supporting approved charities leading local recovery efforts.
- Directly support charities on the ground. We’ve curated and are continually updating this list of charities working on the ground, ready to receive support right away.
- Pray. Good and gracious God, our hearts are hurting after the overwhelming forces of nature disrupted our lives and shook our spirits. We trust in You, the God who provides strength and comfort amid uncertainty and loss. Guide us as we navigate toward the time when we emerge stronger from our struggles. May we continually seek Your face, giving You all the power and glory as You restore our paths in the days ahead. Amen.
