Melvin Mow

Board Member

Melvin has extensive financial management experience, having served as  Executive Vice President, Chief Risk Officer, and Chief Credit Officer at First Hawaiian Bank, the largest commercial bank in Hawaii. His career with the bank spanned over 42 years, with a focus on commercial lending, retail banking, and credit administration.  He served on the bank’s Senior Management Committee and retired in June 2014.

Mel is a graduate of Punahou School, the University of Redlands, and the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington.  He and his wife Sally have three children and five grandchildren, and are members of City Church of Honolulu.

Currently, Mel serves on the boards of Trinity Christian School and HEDCO Local Development Corporation (an economic development non-profit serving Hawaii and Guam). Over the years, Mel has served on the boards of various other non-profit organizations such as Youth for Christ Hawaii, Child Evangelism Fellowship of Hawaii, Central Christian School, the Salvation Army Hawaii Advisory Committee, and Young Life Hawaii.
