Tom Rulon

President

Thomas A. Rulon, Esq. –  Tom has lived in Kailua and been married to Lillian for 49 years. He has three adult daughters and six grandchildren.  He is a Vietnam veteran where he served with the Marine Corps.  Tom is a graduate of Northwestern University (B.S. in business administration) and of the Northwestern University School of Law (J.D. degree).  He has practiced estate planning and trust law in Hawaii for over 40 years. He has served as president of both the Tax Section and the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the Hawaii State Bar Association.  He is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC).  Tom has co-authored numerous “how-to manuals” for other professionals in the areas of probate, estate planning and elder law and is a frequent lecturer on those topics.  For many years Tom hosted a call in radio program on estate planning.

Tom has served the community as board chairman of the Easter Seal Society of Hawaii, board member of Lanakila Rehabilitation Institute, founder and counselor of the River of Life Christian Legal Aid Clinic to the homeless, national board member of the Christian Legal Society, board member and president of the Hawaii Christian Legal Society, vice chairman of the Hawaii Youth for Christ Board, a member of Gideons and board member and President of the National Christian Foundation Hawaii. Tom also serves as secretary on his local Church board, the Kailua Church of the Nazarene.  He has volunteered as a disaster action team captain and instructor for the Hawaii Red Cross.

Tom’s favorite Scripture verses are: 1Thes.5:16-18: “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing and in all things give thanks, for that is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”.

Tom’s recreational interests include hiking, backpacking and kayak fishing.
