Dan Poortenga

Dan Poortenga serves as Vice President at NCF Michigan. In this role, Dan connects with like-minded givers, professional advisors, and ministries to share how the National Christian Foundation can support them in generous giving. He leads outreach efforts across West Michigan and manages strategic relationships with our partners.

Prior to joining the NCF Michigan team in 2020, Dan worked in business development and project management at both manufacturing and merger and acquisition advisory firms. He earned his JD from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, MA, and his MBA from Suffolk University Sawyer Business School.

Dan also serves as board chair of the Grand Rapids Public Library Foundation and volunteers at several other local charities through his church. When not working on a home remodel project, he enjoys outdoor activities like golfing, hiking, and taking scenic drives. He is the proud father to four children, one headed for college and three already graduated.
