Dan Poortenga

As Vice President, Dan cultivates relationships with prospective givers, leads outreach efforts, and manages strategic relationships with advisors and ministries across West Michigan.

Prior to joining the NCF Michigan team in 2020, Dan worked in business development and project management at both manufacturing and merger and acquisition advisory firms. He earned Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, MA, and his Masters in Business Administration from Suffolk University Sawyer Business School.

Dan currently also serves as board chair of the Grand Rapids Public Library Foundation and volunteers at several other local charities through his church. He enjoys many outdoor activities, including golfing. He is the proud father to four children, one in middle school and three in college.
