How you can help victims of the Spokane Complex Fire
Our neighbors are facing devastating losses from the Spokane Complex Fire. Families have been displaced, homes and belongings have been lost, and first responders and community organizations are working around the clock to meet urgent needs.
We want you to be aware of charities already approved by NCF for granting we know are on the ground caring for the needs of the fire victims and the affected community.
NCF Northwest’s President Bob Mumford met with local charities this week. Explore the list of charities in Spokane providing practical relief in the name of Jesus. Be sure to include “Spokane Complex Fire Relief” in the grant purpose. Big Table Spokane

The most vulnerable working population – frontline employees in the restaurant and hospitality industry – are often underinsured and don’t have a safety net. Big Table Care Coordinators walk alongside these families with focused prayer, relational care, and connection to additional resources. Big Table will provide a $4,000 triage care package for each family that has lost their home that will include $2,750 toward rent and required deposits, $1,000 toward essential housing items, and $250 in grocery gift cards.
Family Promise of Spokane

As a long-term housing sustainability organization for families experiencing homelessness, Family Promise is pivoting to quickly rehouse impacted families with minor children recently displaced by the fires by providing direct client assistance with emergency hotel rooms, security deposits, rental arrears, utility hookups, and other similar needs. They provide specialized case management to ensure no displaced child remains unhoused or slides into chronic homelessness when short-term emergency shelters have left the area.
Foursquare Disaster Relief (FDR)

In the Greater Spokane area, FDR has trained personnel to support 15 local Foursquare churches, helping families during crisis. They have already been deployed to provide supplies for families who have lost everything or are displaced (diapers, food, clothing, etc.) and emergency housing and spiritual and emotional care and support for fire victims. They’re engaging with church and community members who’ve lost their homes and will help to provide transitional and potentially long-term housing solutions.
Union Gospel Mission of the Inland Northwest

Spokane fire victims and community members are already being served, and future grants will hep continue the work of providing housing, vehicle replacement, and other services. Any remaining funds will be sued to serve Spokane men and women needing restoration and healing.
Whitworth University Emergency Relief

While the Whitworth University campus was unharmed, many members of the Whitworth staff are facing uncertainty and significant challenges. Gifts will provide practical assistance, including temporary housing, meals, and other immediate needs.
