Hurricane Relief

Hurricane Melissa, a catastrophic Category 5 storm, has brought historic flooding, landslides, and destructive winds to Jamaica, and threatens Haiti and Cuba. As Floridians, we know the devastation hurricanes leave behind.
The need is urgent. The recovery will be long.
Here are 3 ways you can make a difference today:
Ask God to protect and heal Jamaica, Cuba, and the surrounding islands. Pray for the men and women who will be deployed when the storm passes, and ask how He might be calling you to get involved.
- Pray.
Ask God to protect the people impacted. Pray for the men and women who will be deployed when the storm passes, and ask how He might be calling you to get involved. - Partner with your local church.
As advocates of the Church, we encourage you to first contact your local church for opportunities to provide relief. - Give through NCF. You have two options:
- Give to our Disaster Relief Fund.
- Give directly to a disaster relief organization.
For donor-advised fund holders: You can recommend a grant to our Disaster Relief Fund directly through your NCF giving account.
How Our Disaster Relief Fund Works:
The Disaster Relief Fund is a resource base that our team activates dedicated to provide hope, help, and healing in times of crisis or when disaster relief efforts are required.
While NCF South Florida is not a relief organization, we encourage our community to provide support and relief to victims of disaster through financial resources; in turn, we promise to connect these resources to meet urgent needs by collaborating with best-in-class on the ground providers for immediate relief, long-term support and restoration, and by working alongside local pastors and churches to strengthen their ministry and position the Church as the hub of relief.
Unlike GoFundme and similar donation platforms, our Disaster Relief Fund ensures that 100% of your gift goes directly to relief efforts and in service of those in desperate need without any overhead or administrative fees. Our commitment is to keep you informed as we coordinate with local churches and best-in-class ministry partners on the ground in areas of impact.
If you have a Giving Fund with NCF you can make a fund-to-fund transfer by logging into your Giving Fund and going to the Transfer page, where you’ll enter the fund name (The Disaster Relief and Crisis Fund) and number (294210).
If you need assistance making a gift, please contact our Director of Giver Services, Lycet Corbo (954.334.1874 | lcorbo@ncfgiving.com).
