Paul Forbes

Board Member

Originally from Kansas City, Paul served as an Army officer after earning an engineering degree from West Point. He commanded Air Cav troops and flew attack helicopters with the  82nd Airborne, finishing his career as an instructor pilot at the Army flight school. Upon departing the military Paul worked for over a decade with Hallmark Cards in a variety of positions including business units, product development and operations as well as an assignment internationally. It was during his work in the developing world that Paul and his wife felt the call to full time ministry. Paul left Hallmark to become the executive pastor of their home church back in Kansas City. Given his education, experience, and gifting Paul always had an interest and passion for developing leaders. This took on a significant role working with business leaders at the church. While there Paul learned of NCF (the National Christian Foundation), their capabilities, and started using them personally. Several business owner friends then began utilizing NCF for enhanced & leveraged giving. This eventually opened the door for Paul to serve with NCF full time. Now with almost 25 years in the generosity movement, Paul works with business owners, leaders and their families to explore areas of interest, do family, succession & estate planning, as well as look at opportunities to leverage non-cash assets for tax minimization and greater generosity. He continues to enjoy developing and challenging leaders. Paul and his wife reside in Kansas City, have three grown kids and 11 grandkids.
