Early in his career working as a journalist, Hal Donaldson, Founder of Convoy of Hope, was sent to interview Mother Teresa. But, in the middle of the interview, she began to ask some questions of her own. One, in particular, would stay with him forever.
“Young man, let me ask you a question,” Mother Teresa said. “What are you doing to help the poor and the suffering?”
Floored by the question, and compelled to give an answer, Hal was honest. He wasn’t doing much of anything.
“Well,” she answered, “just do the next kind thing God puts in front of you.”
These simple words gave Hal the clarity he’d been longing for, and he chose to take her advice.
