Of all the popular features of a Giving Fund at the National Christian Foundation (NCF), recurring gift and grant schedules may top the list, and for good reason. They’re a powerful way you can add money to your fund and support the charities you love automatically and regularly. You simply create a calendar of upcoming activity, and NCF takes care of the rest.
A big benefit of recurring schedules is that your giving gets simpler. Gone are your administrative hassles of writing checks repeatedly, retyping in your bank information, and entering the same charity details over and over. This frees you up to spend more time developing your Giving Strategy to help you maximize your generosity impact.
But perhaps more importantly, when it comes to grantmaking, these schedules help ensure a consistent, reliable rhythm of funding for your church and favorite ministries.

For charity leaders, predicting budgets can be a challenge, especially when the majority of support they receive arrives at the end of the year. But when you set up recurring grant schedules for your favorite charities, you help ensure their success and let them focus on the important ministry work they’re called to do.
Ready to get started? Here’s a step-by-step guide.
Gifts into your fund
You can schedule new gifts into your fund weekly, biweekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually by credit card or eCheck (from your bank account).
- Log in and go to the Give page.
- Select a gift type.
- Choose a dollar amount.
- Select a recurring option (anything other than “one time”), and select start/end dates for your new schedule.
- If you’re adding a new payment method, you’ll be asked to save it as a “saved giving option,” which will be used for this new recurring schedule.
- Click the blue “Make my gift” button.
Grants to charities
You can schedule recurring grants to go to your favorite charities weekly, biweekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually. NCF sends the grants as physical checks or electronic transfers for you on or very near your selected dates.
- Log in and go to the Grant page.
- Select one of your favorite charities, or search to find a new one.
- Select the recurring grant option, enter a dollar amount, and then set the frequency and start/end dates of your new schedule.
- Click the blue “Submit grant” button.
Updates to existing schedules
It’s fast and easy to update, extend, or cancel your recurring gift or grant schedules anytime from your desktop or laptop computer.
- Log in and go to either the Gift or Grant page.
- Click the “Recurring schedules” submenu option near the top of the page.
- Use the dropdown menu to view your active, completed, and other schedule types.
- Click the “Edit” link for any schedule you wish to edit, and make your desired changes (such as changing the dollar amount or extending the end date).
- Click the “Cancel” link for any schedule you wish to delete completely.
- You can also find and update your recurring schedules from the Activity page in the “Gifts” and “Grants” submenu options.
