Giving hope in the wake of Hurricane Florence

Hurricane Florence is ripping across the Carolinas and is expected to impact the lives of as many as 10 million people throughout the Southeast. Our NCF teams in Charlotte and Raleigh are preparing to roll up their sleeves and join in the relief efforts.

“The expected rainfall is up to 10 inches with flash flooding concerns but it’s nothing nothing like what they are seeing on the coast,” reported Brandon Davis, Executive Operations Director of NCF Carolinas. “Our hope is that the aftermath in western North Carolina will be significantly less, so that we can be better positioned to aid eastern North Carolina in their cleanup and recovery efforts, but only time will tell.”

In the wake of a natural disaster, there is a risk of fraud by people or groups taking advantage of the good intentions of givers who want to help. Our research team at NCF has compiled a list of on-the-ground charities that are actively mobilizing volunteers, supplies, and critical support for victims of the storms. All of the charities below are “public charities” with 501(c)(3) status and who align with NCF’s beliefs and values.

Giving hope from your Giving Fund

If you have a Giving Fund at NCF, you can select one of the links below to visit the charity’s profile page on our website, where you can recommend grants to support their work and help give hope today. If you don’t have a Giving Fund at NCF yet, learn more or open one today.

Look for continued updates to this list as we research and add additional on-the-ground charities. Also, read our related story to learn how you can pray for victims of the storm.

Thank you to everyone who is reaching out in this critical time with prayers and gifts to help those in great need!
